Account Manager, K-12 School Sales (Indiana & Michigan Territories)

Job Summary

Account Managers are responsible for conducting sales calls to public and non-public schools within Indiana and Michigan to sell K-12 product lines for World Language, Language Arts/Literature, and Social Studies. Account Managers will provide in-service overview training for teachers who have adopted EMC programs, set up and manage all relevant territory and state level exhibits and conferences, submit weekly reports to Sales Manager regarding sales activities and territory / market trends.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Meet and exceeds sales goals for EMC products within the assigned sales territory of Indiana and Michigan
  • Working in conjunction with the Regional Manager, develops, maintains, provides, and executes a territory plan, which must include information on sales opportunities, sales pipeline, closed sales, and customer/market trends
  • Travels as needed within the sales territory to call on customers and attend conferences
  • Effectively qualifies leads and sales opportunities to ensure effective time and budget management
  • Develops, maintains, and effectively utilizes Salesforce. Reviews, interprets, and evaluates customer information and sales data to develop and follow a data-driven territory management plan
  • Maintains proper documentation and provides timely reports to management as requested
  • Works in conjunction with Sales Support and Marketing to maximize revenue within the assigned territory
  • Creates and continually updates a sales plan that identifies target customers and maximizes revenue within the assigned territory
  • Up to 50% overnight travel required

Education and Experience Qualifications

  • 4 year college degree (Bachelor’s Degree) is required
  • Must possess a minimum of three years of successful sales experience with proven track record of results in outside/inside sales
  • Prior teaching experience is preferred
  • Experience selling in the K-12 market preferred
  • Must live within the assigned territory of Indiana or Michigan

Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities

  • Computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Experience presenting solution over the phone and internet utilizing web-based tools such as Webex and GoToMeeting
  • Experience with is preferred
  • Excellent verbal, written, electronic and telephone communication skills
  • Up to 50% overnight travel required
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record
