Marketing Generalist

Job Summary

The Marketing Generalist (MG) is responsible for effective execution of Marketing and Communications activities designed to augment business development activities, enhance the brand in the social media arena, and heighten market awareness for the organization on a local, regional and national basis. The individual will also be responsible for helping to evolve and promote the EMC brand. The MG will assist in identifying and penetrating industry and functional sectors, proactively implement an ongoing communications campaign, assist in optimizing all facets of EMC’s online presence including social media, and ensure opportunities for EMC to sponsor or attend events are maximized. The successful candidate must be comfortable simultaneously operating with a diverse organization and various personalities.

This position will be located in St. Paul, MN. Relocation assistance will not be provided.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, author, and execute direct mail and digital marketing materials (including catalogs, brochures, flyers, letters, and postcards) that generate sales leads and product orders, and support the sales representatives
  • Assist in generating online web content for emcp.com, social media channels, promotional pages, and event announcements
  • Assist in writing and conceptualize e-marketing campaigns including email blasts and website landing pages
  • Assist in copyediting, proofreading, and fact-checking product information in all EMC marketing materials
  • Assist in managing and maintaining the marketing editorial calendars

Education and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or similar
  • 2 or more years marketing communications experience. Familiarity with education or educational sales preferred

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and effectively, primarily in written form
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications. Knowledge of Access and web development preferred
  • Knowledge of mailings, project management, and promotions
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively, meet schedules and deadlines, and produce high-quality work products
